SSD & NVMe cloning

Move your whole system onto faster storage without reinstalling it. The drive is cloned, not reformatted, so Windows, your programs and your files come across exactly as they were.

What cloning actually does

We copy your existing drive onto a new SSD or NVMe device bit for bit. Your operating system, your applications, your documents, your browser, your email — all of it arrives on the new drive already set up and signed in. You swap the drive and carry on working. Nothing is reinstalled.

Why it is worth doing

  • Startup times collapse. A mechanical drive takes the better part of a minute to reach a usable desktop. An SSD does it in seconds.
  • It stops being slow under pressure. The stutter when you open twelve tabs is usually the drive, not the processor.
  • You gain storage by moving to a larger device while keeping everything already on it.
  • Nothing is lost. No reinstalling Windows, no hunting for licence keys, no re-configuring software.

What we need from you

The machine, and the new drive if you have already bought one. If you have not, tell us the machine and we will tell you what it supports. We check compatibility before we start — SATA and M.2 are not interchangeable, and a laptop usually has only one slot, which decides whether the old drive becomes a second drive or is retired.

Laptops and desktops

We clone notebooks, ultrabooks, all-in-one machines and desktops across SATA, M.2 and NVMe. Laptops with a single drive slot need the original removed or duplicated, which is part of the job rather than an extra surprise. Data that will not fit on the smaller target drive is something we raise before we start, never after.

What happens at the bench

  1. Compatibility check. What fits, what does not, and what the new drive gives you.
  2. Written quote for the clone and the fitting, before anything is booked in.
  3. The clone. Your old drive is read, not touched or erased.
  4. Handover. We boot it with you, confirm your files and programs are intact, and explain the 6-month warranty.

Cloning is a data operation. We take the drive out only for the swap, we do not format anything, and if anything looks wrong we stop and tell you before we continue.
