Cracked or shattered screens
Dropped, sat on or closed on something. Cracked glass usually means a full panel replacement, and we fit a screen matched to your laptop's size, resolution and specification rather than whatever was closest.
Paarl & the Winelands
Cracked, shattered, flickering, dim or completely black laptop screen? We replace displays on HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, MSI, Samsung and MacBook, and we check the cheaper causes first — a failed display cable or backlight costs a fraction of a new panel. Same-day where parts allow, written quote first, 6-month warranty.

A dead screen is not always a dead panel. We test properly first, because a display cable or a failed backlight is a fraction of the cost of a new screen.
Dropped, sat on or closed on something. Cracked glass usually means a full panel replacement, and we fit a screen matched to your laptop's size, resolution and specification rather than whatever was closest.
These are the classic cable and backlight faults. A screen that stays black with the laptop on, flickers as the lid moves, or shows lines and blocks is very often the internal display cable or connector — a far cheaper repair than a panel.
A display that is barely visible, or only half the screen lights up, points to a failing backlight or inverter rather than a broken panel. Worth checking before agreeing to a replacement.
Cracked hinges, bent brackets and stripped screws cause the screen to sit crooked, flicker when opened, or sit proud of the lid. They also crack the panel — so fixing the mount properly is what stops the next failure.
Dead zones, ghost touches, phantom inputs or a display that no longer responds to touch. Usually the digitiser layer rather than the panel, and sometimes repairable rather than a full replacement.
If the damage has taken out the panel and the mount and the board, we will say so rather than book in work that is not worth doing. There is no point spending panel money on a chassis that is already bent.
You get a written price before anything is booked in.
We examine the laptop and identify what has actually failed. A picture or video of the damage, plus the make and model, gets us most of the way before you arrive.
A transparent, no-obligation quote in plain language. Nothing is booked in, and no work starts, until you say yes.
Technicians replace the screen or repair the cable, backlight, hinge or digitiser, depending on what the diagnosis actually showed.
The new display is tested properly — brightness, colour, touch response and the hinge angle — so you do not find out it was not quite right after you got home.
Your laptop goes back with a 6-month warranty covering the parts fitted, the work done and any manufacturing defect in the panel.
Send us the model and a photo first. Plenty of "broken screens" turn out to be a display cable, a dead backlight, or a crashed driver that costs nothing to fix.
For certain models we cannot quote or complete the repair while you wait. Our suppliers only release an LCD panel against its item code, and that code is on the panel itself — so the display has to be taken out of the laptop before we can order the right part. In those cases we book the laptop in for the panel removal, order the panel against the code, and fit it on return.
We will always tell you before we book anything in whether your model is one of these. Nothing is booked and no charge is made for the removal unless you agree to the quote first, and the removal itself is quick — it is the waiting for the panel to arrive that takes time, not the work.

The things people ask before bringing a laptop with a cracked screen into Paarl.
For most laptop models the actual replacement takes one to two hours, so many repairs are finished the same day you bring the laptop in. High-resolution, touch and some MacBook panels can need a day or two, mostly because the part has to be ordered in.
Sometimes, yes, and it is always worth checking first. A screen that has gone black or flickers is often the display cable or connector rather than the panel, and a black screen from a failed backlight or inverter can also be repaired. We test properly before quoting and will tell you honestly if a cheaper repair is the right call.
It depends on your laptop model and the panel it needs, so we quote per job rather than publish a price list. You get a written quote before any work is booked in. Call 081 015 0573 or WhatsApp us with the make, model and what the screen is doing.
Yes. Hinges and screen mounts are the usual cause of a screen that flickers when you open the lid, sits crooked, or has cracked after being forced. A cracked hinge left alone will crack the panel, so it is worth fixing properly rather than just taping it.
We repair screens on HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, MSI, Samsung and Apple MacBook laptops, covering standard panels, high-resolution and touch displays.
Not really. Glass fragments can come loose inside the lid, and if the damage has reached the panel, opening and closing the lid can spread the crack further. More importantly, a cracked screen is often a sign the panel or mount is under stress, so it tends to get worse rather than staying the same. Keep it closed and bring it in.
Yes, all display work carries a 6-month warranty covering the parts fitted and the work done, including manufacturing defects in the panel.
Some models, because our suppliers only release an LCD panel against its item code and that code is printed on the panel itself. We have to take the display out of the laptop to read it, then order the correct part against that code and fit it when it arrives. The removal is quick; it is the wait for the panel that takes the time. We will always tell you before anything is booked in, and we will not book it in or charge for the removal without your agreement to the quote first.
